ARLO PARKS STAYS AT NO.1 WITH MY SOFT MACHINE!

Plus: New milestones for Joni Mitchell’s Court and Spark, and Adele’s 30.
Arlo Parks logs a second consecutive week at number-one on the L.dK Weekly Top 50, selling a further 74,000 copies of My Soft Machine. The album opened at the top spot last week, selling a total of 216,000 units, with pure sales making up 91,000 of that figure.
Lana Del Rey’s Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd sits at No.2 for a sixth straight week after five weeks in charge, selling 70,000 copies (down 7 percent). Del Rey’s Norman Fucking Rockwell! sticks at No.10 with 20,000 units sold (down 4 percent), as it snares a record-extending 149th week inside the Top Ten.
Jessie Ware’s That! Feels Good! which holds at No.3 following a four-week reign, shifting 66,000 copies (down 4 percent).
Beyonce’s five-week-leader RENAISSANCE reverses course 6-4 on sales of 43,000 copies (down 4 percent).
Joni Mitchell’s twelve-week-ruler Court and Spark also re-enters the Top Five as it rebounds 7-5, selling 34,000 copies (down 6 percent). Spark has now surpassed Blue to become Mitchell’s biggest selling album to date, with total sales of 2.83 million units.
Even more impressively, Spark now ranks as the 10th bestselling album of all time, ranking ahead of her own Blue (2.81 million), and Kate Bush’s now-unavailable The Whole Story (2.77 million). It sits just behind Lana Del Rey’s Diamond-certified Lust for Life (3.07 million).
Tina Turner’s Private Dancer slips from its No.4 highpoint to No.6, moving 33,000 copies (down 48 percent). The late icon’s landmark album is now her first to be certified Gold for selling over 100,000 copies.
Adele’s 30, which previously topped the chart for a whopping seventeen non-consecutive weeks, elevates 8-7 this week, selling 29,000 copies (up 12 percent). The juggernaut has now become just the fourth album in history to be certified at least 16 x Platinum, denoting sales of over 4.8 million units. It joins Del Rey’s NFR! (2 x Diamond – 6.19 million), and Taylor Swift’s folklore (18 x Platinum – 5.50 million), and evermore (16 x Platinum – 4.90 million).
Rounding out the Top Ten: Taylor Swift’s Midnights slides 5-8 after spiking following its re-release (27,000 units – down 56 percent) – the album previously spent twelve weeks at the summit. Meanwhile, Caroline Polachek’s No.2-peaking Desire, I Want to Turn Into You repeats at No.9 (21,000 units – down 16 percent).
Onto Next Week: Lana Del Rey’s Ocean Blvd could return for a sixth week at the chart summit, currently tracking to sell upwards of 70,000 copies.

Notable Moves in the Weekly Top 50
No.11 – Palomino / First Aid Kit’s latest hit has now become the first first album to exceed sales of a million copies – it is the 67th album to achieve this.
No.29 – Rhythm Nation / Janet Jackson’s fourth studio album debuts with 8,000 sold. It is closely followed by Jackson’s self-titled release, also selling 8,000 following its 30-year anniversary this week. The singer also charts at No.50 with her third record, Control on sales of 5,000 copies.
No.33 – Come Away With Me / Norah Jones’s debut album sold a further 8,000 copies this week, bringing its total sales figure to 1.203 million. This means the album has now been certified 4 x Platinum.
No.48 – Making Movies / Dire Straits claim their first Silver-certified hit with Making Movies. The album – which peaked at No.41 – sold a further 5,000 copies this week, bringing its total sales draw to 60,000 units.
