JANET JACKSON CELEBRATES A MONTH AT NUMBER-ONE!

Plus: New Certifications for Jackson & Jessie Ware; Adele’s 30 becomes 3rd bestselling album ever!
Janet Jackson’s self-titled album holds atop the L.dK Weekly Top 50 for a fourth consecutive week, selling a further 73,000 units (down 11 percent).
Jackson’s chart-topping Rhythm Nation 1814 is steady at No.5 once again on sales of 28,000 copies (down 9 percent). It has now become the singer’s second Platinum-certified hit!
Lana Del Rey’s six-week-leader Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd remains at No.2, selling 57,000 copies (down 7 percent).
Del Rey’s Norman Fucking Rockwell! re-enters the Top Ten (rising 11-9), with 21,000 sold (up 5 percent). NFR! which previously spent a record-breaking twenty-five weeks at number-one, has now logged a record-extending 153 weeks inside the Top Ten!
Taylor Swift’s folklore returns to the Top 5 for the first time since September 2022, moving 7-4 on sales of 34,000 copies (up 21 percent). The juggernaut, which previously commanded the Top 50 for a total of seventeen weeks, has now spent a whopping 60 weeks inside the Top 5 – the 3rd most among all albums.
Swift is also present inside the Top Ten at No.8 with Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) which debuted and peaked at No.2 two weeks ago. The re-release sold 21,000 this week (down 8 percent).
Outside the Top Five: Joni Mitchell’s twelve-week-ruler Court and Spark slides 4-6 (27,000 units – down 11 percent), while Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE dips 6-7 (26,000 units – down 8 percent) after five weeks at the summit.
Adele’s 30 rounds out the Top Ten, steady at No.10 (20,000 sold – down 5 percent). The mega-hit set the record as the fastest-selling album of all time upon its release in November 2021, and swiftly surpassed sales of 1 million, 2 million, 3 million, and 4 million copies in record time! This week, 30 surpasses Taylor Swift’s evermore (4.970 million) to become the 3rd bestselling album of all time.
30 has sold a whopping 4.974 million copies since its release, and lags behind only Swift’s folklore (5.661 million), and Del Rey’s NFR! (6.336 million).
Onto Next Week: Stevie Nicks could score her 7th No.1 hit with her newest boxset, Complete Studio Albums & Rarities. The compilation is currently gunning to sell upwards of 75,000 copies in its opening frame. Her last release – Live in Concert: the 24 Karat Gold Tour – was released in 2020, and debuted and peaked at No.6, eventually being certified Gold. Carly Rae Jepsen could also start inside the Top 5 with her latest offering – The Loveliest Time, a companion piece to last year’s No.2-peaking The Loneliest Time.

No.35 – The Lion and the Cobra / Sinead o’ Connor’s debut album re-enters on sales of 7,000 copies following her death on Wednesday 26th July. The album previously debuted and peaked at No.26 in late-2021. Her sophomore set I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got launches at No.47 with 5,000 sold.
