SAM FENDER MAKES HISTORY WITH SEVENTEEN GOING UNDER!

PLUS: Lana Del Rey & Cher hit Top Ten!
Sam Fender spends a second consecutive week at number-one on L.dK Weekly with his hit sophomore LP Seventeen Going Under! The album sold 64,000 units this week (up 6 percent) and has sold just under 300,000 copies since its release six weeks ago.
Seventeen is the first album by a male artist to spend multiple weeks at the top spot, following one-week-leaders from Sam Smith, Troye Sivan, Harry Styles & The Weeknd. By nabbing a second week at the top spot, Fender ties for the most weeks at number-one by a male soloist; The Weeknd topped the charts for a single week with both After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).
Adele reverses course 3-2 with her historic fourth album 30; the album moved 51,000 units this week (on par with last week) and has now been certified 8 x Platinum for exceeding sales of 2.4 million copies!
Currently, 30 is the bestselling album of 2022 (1.12 million); the 6th bestselling album of the decade (2.44 million); and the 9th bestselling album of all time. It became the fastest-selling album ever upon its release in November (650,000 units) and set the record for the fastest album to sell 1 million (three weeks) and 2 million copies (12 weeks)!
Tracy Chapman’s self-titled debut album descends 2-3 just two weeks after climbing to the summit for the first time. It sold 47,000 copies this week (down 17 percent) and has now been certified Platinum for selling over 300,000 units.
Norah Jones stays at No.4 with her No.2-peaking Come Away With Me on sales of 28,000 copies (up 7 percent).
Rounding out the Top Ten: Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over the Country Club rockets 19-5, selling 26,000 copies (up 160 percent) in the aftermath of its one-year anniversary on March 19th. Chemtrails has been certified 6 x Platinum for total sales of over 1.8 million copies; it spent nine weeks at the top spot in 2021 and has charted for 53 weeks to date.
Del Rey now boasts three album which have all been certified 6 x Platinum or higher: Norman Fucking Rockwell! (16 x Platinum); Lust for Life (9 x Platinum); and now Chemtrails (6 x Platinum) – a record among all artists.
Del Rey also drops 5-7 on this week’s list with her former chart-topping Blue Banisters (24,000 units – up 4 percent).
Outside the Top Five: Joni Mitchell bullets at No.6 with former-number-one Blue (24,000 units – up 14 percent); Taylor Swift repeats at No.8 with the historic folklore (20,000 units – even with last week); and Arlo Parks is steady at No.9 with the No.3-peaking Collapsed in Sunbeams (18,000 units – down 6 percent).
Finally, Cher collects her fourth successive Top Ten hit as her 1999 compilation album If I Could Turn Back Time: Cher’s Greatest Hits nudges 11-10 on sales of 17,000 copies (up 13 percent) in its 5th charting week. The collection follows Dancing Queen (No.2); Heart of Stone (No.2); and her self-titled LP (No.6). It has been certified Silver so far.
Onto Next Week: Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under is currently aiming for a third week at the top of the charts, with sales of 60 – 65k.
