ADELE REMAINS DOMINANT NO.1 ON WEEKLY TOP 50!

Adele continues to dominate the Weekly Top 50 as 30 pulls in massive numbers in its second week on sale. After debuting with a record-breaking 650,000 units last week, the pressure was on to see if the album could avoid a massive decline in sales.
30 sold over 200,000 in its sophomore frame. Plus: Katie Melua’s Album No. 8 reaches its highest rank since November 2020!
The LP dropped 68.4% – a huge fall, but to expected after such a large debut – to sell 206,000 units its second frame. It has sold 856,000 to date in only fourteen days!
By comparison, Lana Del Rey’s Lust for Life declined by 83.9% in its sophomore week, tumbling from a then-record-breaking 639,000 units, to 103,000 sales the following week.
With total sales now over 850,000, 30 is expected to break the record for the shortest amount of time needed to sell 1 million albums. The title is currently jointly held by Lust for Life and Taylor Swift’s evermore as both albums needed just six weeks to achive the impressive feat.
