If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power and Big Red Machine’s How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last? earn new certifications!
Halsey tops the Contemporary Albums Chart for a second consecutive week with If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. The album sold a further 146,000 copies in its second frame, dropping twenty-four percent from the previous week when it debuted with sales of 193,000 units.
To date, Power has sold a hefty 339,000 copies, and has been certified Platinum (denoting sales of over 300,000 units). It is Halsey’s third record to achieve this feat, following 2017’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and 2020’s Manic.
A quartet of former-chart-topping albums follows in the Top Five: Lorde’s Solar Power holds at No.2 in its third week, moving 50,000 units (down two percent); Billie Eilish’s Happier than Ever rebounds 4-3 with 35,000 sold (down nineteen percent); Taylor Swift’s folklore swings 6-4 selling 33,000 units (down nine percent); and Jade Bird’s Different Kinds of Light slides 3-5 on sales of 32,000 copies (down twenty-nine percent).
Taylor Swift’s number-one hit evermore improves 7-6 (29,000 units – down seventeen percent).
Falling to No.7 after debuting at No.5 last week is How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last? – the sophomore album from indie-duo Big Red Machine. The set sold 24,000 copies this week (down thirty-six percent). After just two weeks, the indie-record has now sold over 60,000 copies and been certified Silver.
A trio of number-one smashes round out the Top Ten: Lana Del Rey pushes 9-8 with Chemtrails Over the Country Club (20,000 units – up eleven percent); Miley Cyrus descends 8-9 with Plastic Hearts (18,000 units – even with last week); and Birdy dips 9-10 with Young Heart (14,000 units – down eight percent).
Onto Next Week: Halsey looks bound for a third week in the No.1 spot, as Power is tracking to sell a further 100,000 units. Kacey Musgraves is also set for a Top Five start with Star-Crossed, possibly with over 30,000 units.

Norman Fucking Rockwell! logs a record-extending twenty-second week at No.1 on the Catalogue Albums Chart. The album sold a further 24,000 units (down four percent) in the most recent period.
This week, NFR! logs a record-padding sixty-third week in the Top Five and ninety-ninth week in the Top Ten.
Del Rey’s Born to Die: the Paradise Edition meanwhile returns to the Top Ten as it flies 14-8 on sales of 10,000 copies (up forty-two percent).
Joni Mitchell ascends 4-2 with Blue, selling 18,000 copies (down five percent).
Stevie Nicks’s Crystal Visions – the Very Best of Stevie Nicks holds at No.3 with 17,000 units (down twelve percent) as her debut album Bella Donna lifts 11-9 on sales of 9,000 units (on par with last week).
As Bella Donna ranks at No.9 this week, it notches a 156th appearance on L.dK Weekly – it becomes the first album ever released to spend a whopping three full years on the list!

Capping the Top Five: Annie Lennox’s Diva shifts 6-5 with 12,000 sold (up twenty percent).
A pair of number-one albums rank just outside the Top Five: Fleetwood Mac’s Greatest Hits steps up 7-6 (12,000 units – up nine percent); and Halsey’s Manic dives 2-7 (10,000 units – down fifty-nine percent).
Alanis Morissette’s The Collection anchors the Top Ten, holding at No.10: 8,000 sold (even with last week).
Onto Next Week: As the hype grows for her upcoming album, Lana Del Rey is set dominate the Catalogue Chart in the coming week; with NFR! leading the way.
Notable Moves on Top Catalogue Albums!
No.25 – Bad Animals / HEART first visited the Top Ten with this 1987 hit back in 2017; while the set never climbed higher than No.6, it proved to be a chart mainstay, now clocking its 89th turn on L.dK Weekly. As of this week, Animals has been certified Double Platinum for selling more than 600,000 units!

Industry Sales
Contemporary Albums recorded sales of 488,000 units this week (down 17.6%) while Catalogue Albums generated sales of 285,000 units (down 8.7%). Contemporary accounted for 63.1% of all sales this week; versus 36.9% for Catalogue.
Total industry sales stand at 773,000 units for the week, decreasing by 14.5% from the previous week. Compared to the same week last year (when 739,000 albums were sold), consumption is up 4.6%!
